Description
Remember when the news was a TV programme and you either caught it or missed it? No? We don’t blame you. The entire concept of TV, and the way we consume it, has changed so dramatically that the fact that TV 2 Lorry has managed to stay strong for 34 years is astounding. But a change has come: Say farewell to Lorry and hello to Kosmopol!
TV 2 Kosmopol no longer focuses on the one daily live production best served with your hot dinner at 5.30 PM. Kosmopol is still very much local, but now with a greater global outlook in order to shed light on the state of affairs in the metropolis of Copenhagen.
Challenge
How do you move a known and trusted provider of local and regional news into a new digital and global era without breaking a bond with the people tuning in?
Idea
With a new name and strategy made by TV 2 Kosmopol and &Co. / NoA, we took the baton and, together with TV 2 Kosmopol’s own design team, set out to create a visual identity that could bring the media house safely from traditional flow TV to the broadspectered world of media platforms and app icons. With a name like Kosmopol, we felt inspired to contemplate not only the relationship between network and viewer but also between the citizens of the Capital region of Denmark.
Solution
The venn diagram – the friendliest of all mathematical models – reminds us of all the things we have in common, while also making it crystal clear that opposites do coexist, clash, merge or create brand new entities. TV 2 Kosmopol vows to explore and shed light on these grey zones of Denmark’s only metropolis. This is indeed the stuff of news!

Remember when the news was a tv programme and you either caught it or missed it? No? Neither do we. The entire concept of TV and how people consume it has changed dramatically. Copenhagen has grown into a different size and shape, so it goes without saying that it was time for a new name, mindset, position and identity for the capital’s local news provider, TV 2 Lorry.
Challenge
How do you move a leading provider of local and regional news, for people living in Denmark’s only metropolis, into a new digital and global media era?
Idea
Say farewell to Lorry and hello to Kosmopol! TV 2 Kosmopol no longer focuses on the one daily live production best served with your hot dinner at 5.30 PM. Kosmopol is still local, but will increasingly use examples and experiences from other metropolitan areas to shed light on problems and possible solutions in our metropolis.
Solution
With a new name and strategy made by &Co. / NoA, we took the baton and created a well-fitted visual identity for TV 2 Kosmopol.
