Travers:
1. to go or travel across or over
2. to move or pass along or through
3. to bridge across artistic practices
Travers is a cross-artistic journey that aims to pose questions and search for answers. When creating the brand identity of the three act journey of Travers, we focused on the framing of the acts, Glyptoteket, Dokk 1 and Copenhagen Contemporary. What happens when an art event take over a public space and makes it into a lab for cross-artistic collaborations for a week? By working with collage, we mixed content and context, cut up the existing to makes room for the temporary. The three acts of Travers move from past (black and white) through present (blue) to future
(light red).
"We wanted to create a free space for artists, where they could inspire and challenge each other without being forced into conventional working structures or hierarchies. Our aim was to create a generous, playful and egalitarian workspace across artforms and boundaries, and while we were developing this, we discovered how radical it is to set the artistic process free in a world where everything is measured, rated and categorized constantly. Our creative collaboration with Urgent enabled us to sharpen our mission and develop a free and fearless identity."
