With our typographic exhibition Flexibility, Designmuseum Danmark invited its visitors to plunge into the past, present and future of the typeface Flexibility, the cornerstone of the museum’s new visual identity.
Keeping Designmuseum Danmark’s brand promise in mind, We share design, the red and white newspaper fortress encourages visitors to take home, give to a friend or just spontaneously enjoy a little piece of Danish design history.
The typeface Flexibility was created by the Danish architect and graphic designer Naur Klint (1920-1978), in the beginning of the 1960s. Urgent.Agency and Lars Klint digitalised the font in connection with the launch of Designmuseum Danmark’s new visual identity in 2017. The font had been forgotten in the museum’s archives, but now it’s emerging on the international scene as part of the museum’s new visual profile.
Designmuseum Danmark requested Urgent.Agency to design an exhibition that salutes Flexibility and its importance to the museum. With this exhibition we share the fascinating history of Flexibility, the missing link in Danish typography history, with the visitors at Designmuseum Danmark.
The exhibition Flexibility was on display from October 5, 2018 – January 20, 2019.

From the outset, the Flexibility exhibition was conceived as a communication machine. Not only would the exhibition be experienced inside the museum and the papers were to-go, but the room in itself was also programmed to be highly “instagrammable". We are pleased that so many people had fun sharing a typographic moment in their life. Here's a small selection:
