DSB are facing demands to update their historical building at Copenhagen Central station and create more attractive and efficient employee facilities. We were engaged to develop the strategic foundation for the refurbishment as well as the interior design.
The historical DSB building at the Hovedbanegården is facing an ambitious refurbishment. Being the home of the on-the-ground train personnel, the building must address a variety of different functions. Urgent.Agency was engaged to analyze the needs of the employees and to develop concepts for an overall reprogramming of the building. The ambition is to develop solutions that increase employee satisfaction and support a more collaborative environment across the different professions.
The strategy proposes to share functions across departments and introduces much more character and diversity in the employee spaces. This ambitious reconfiguration of the building was well received. As an output, the design and production of a 200 m2 test area was decided.
Together with Krydsrum Architects we developed the overall scheme and program of the test area. We were in charge of the interior design concept including lighting, decoration and color-scheme. The concept features a variety of new spaces and functions that support different zones with different activities and atmospheres.
At the heart of our design is the conviction that a diversity of spaces creates the most quality for the employees. As people are different – so should the spaces be! The functional spaces – e.g. the kitchen and coffee spots – needs special attention as social hubs. Our design supports more openness and social activity, while also accommodating more relaxed and private activities. Our evaluation of the test space shows great enthusiasm for the new interior design and set-up.
The new integrated kitchen and coffee point – with a long social table
In my 18 years as a DSB employee these are by far the best premises we have ever had

The lounge is the heart of the social zone
I really like that it is so open and social - it's great compared to everything I've previously experienced in the labor market.

Bagtankerne Urgent.Agency has always enjoyed spotting a missed opportunity. At the age of 27, the native Los Angelena established her own publicity company to promote films to neglected audiences. Urgent is bringing a brand new desert brand to the next level. Winterspring combines the best ecological ingredients with state of the art Danish chefs like Rasmus Kofoed. Urgent is developing the digital strategy.

From the outset, we were determined to come up with a way of protecting the ice desserts without harming the environment.
